Pengenalan Surah
Introduction
"Katakanlah (wahai Muhammad): "Aku berlindung kepada (Allah) Pemulihara sekalian manusia." — An-Nas 114:1
"Say: "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind," — An-Nas 114:1
Surah An-Nas is the 114th and final surah of the Qur'an, with 6 verses. Together with Surah Al-Falaq it is known as al-Mu'awwidhatain — the two surahs of refuge. Where Al-Falaq seeks refuge from external harm, An-Nas seeks refuge from an inner harm — the whisper within the chest. Most scholars count it as Makkan, while some hold it is Madinan because of its link to the sorcery against the Prophet ﷺ in Madinah.

Tafsir Ringkas
Brief Commentary
Ayat 1–3: Tiga Sifat Allah — Rabb, Malik, Ilah
Verses 1–3: Three Divine Attributes — Rabb, Malik, Ilah
"Katakanlah (wahai Muhammad): "Aku berlindung kepada (Allah) Pemulihara sekalian manusia." — An-Nas 114:1
"Say: "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind," — An-Nas 114:1
"Yang Menguasai sekalian manusia," — An-Nas 114:2
"the King of mankind," — An-Nas 114:2
"the God of mankind," — An-Nas 114:3
The surah opens with three names/attributes of Allah: Rabb (Lord and Sustainer), Malik (King) and Ilah (God worthy of worship). The order moves from care and nurture, to absolute sovereignty, to complete devotion. The refuge sought rests on all three — showing how serious the danger is.
Ayat 4–5: Al-Waswas al-Khannas
Verses 4–5: The Whisperer Who Withdraws
"from the evil of the whisperer who withdraws," — An-Nas 114:4
"who whispers into the hearts of mankind," — An-Nas 114:5
Al-waswas is a subtle, repeated whisper; al-khannas is the one that withdraws and hides when Allah is remembered, returning when a person grows heedless. Sudur (chests) is named as the place of the whisper — the seat of feeling and will. The remedy is therefore constant remembrance and seeking refuge.
Ayat 6: Dua Sumber Was-was
Verse 6: Two Sources of Whispering
— An-Nas 114:6
"from among the jinn and mankind."" — An-Nas 114:6
The final verse of the Qur'an makes clear that evil whispering comes from two sources: devils among the jinn, and people who incite — including companions, media and a harmful environment.
